Dental Implants
Dental implants allow us to replace a tooth just like the original without having to do anything to the adjacent teeth. Additionally, implants can be used to anchor and support a full or partial denture. Implants also help to preserve bone which would otherwise reabsorb or shrink once a tooth is removed.
The dental implant is a titanium post which is placed in the bone by a surgeon. In our office, Dr. Kolokithas has advanced training in this process and performs this procedure. It generally takes several months for the implant to heal. Once healing is complete, Dr. Murrell, Dr. Silvers or Dr. Kolokithas will then complete the restoration over the implant.
